DESCRIPTION:
Created by Judith Donath of MIT in 1994, e-cards have evolved from simple message to rich media images with animation and audio video effects. E- cards are less expensive than traditional cards and have become one of the preferred methods for sending greetings. E-greetings have significantly cut into the market of traditional greeting cards, but they lack the personal feeling and touch physical cards provide.
This day has no specific sponsor and is unofficial. The day is chosen as traditionally it represents the optimal day to mail traditional Christmas Cards each year if you want to make sure they arrive prior to the Christmas holiday.
